3 Ornament Show & Sale - Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center - Solomons

November-January
A juried show that features hand-crafted ornaments by talented regional artists. This is the perfect place to find unique and affordable gift for friends and family. The ornaments are beautifully hung on trees displayed in the Main Gallery of the Arts Building. Visitors shop off the trees and take their purchases to the Gift Shop. The show kicks off before Thanksgiving and runs through early January. During Garden In Lights, the show is open late.

The Town of North Beach begins the festive holiday season by Lighting Up the Town! Gather at the pavilion to see the lighting of the town Christmas tree and holiday displays. The next day, the boardwalk is lined with hundreds of spectators viewing the annual Pat Carpenter Holiday Parade . The best part is when jolly old Santa arrives by fire truck! Get caught up in the swirl of light and sound during the 71st annual Cambridge-Dorchester Christmas Parade -- one of Maryland's largest nighttime parades. Marching bands, floats, classic cars, horses, and more fill the streets with energy and excitement. Shortly before the parade kicks off at 5pm, Cambridge's Crab Basket Tree will be lit. This tree is constructed of  200 crab baskets -- the very bushel baskets that local watermen use to harvest blue crabs.

9 Miracle on 34th Street, Baltimore

One block in Hampden puts on a Christmas light display that is surely visible from space. Neighbors in this block of rowhouses string Christmas lights across 34th Street. Inflatable snowglobes, musical trains and blinking angels adorn homes. A few even allow visitors to peek inside. The lights are on every night from Thanksgiving weekend to January 1, including staying on all night on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. FREE.

2 The Polar Express Train Ride, Cumberland

Embark  on a magical re-creation of the classic children’s story on board a real train. During a trip to the North Pole, passengers are served hot chocolate and a treat by dancing chefs, enjoy a reading of the book by Chris Van Allsburg, and receive the first gift of Christmas (a silver sleigh bell) after Santa boards the train to greet families. Attendants lead passengers in caroling and fun holiday activities on the return trip to Cumberland.

3 Brookside Garden of Lights and Model Trains, Wheaton

4 Holiday Train Garden at White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company

Come see this impressive holiday train garden and while you are there, you can find the perfect Christmas tree, wreathes, window swags, roping and decorations for your home. Santa will be available for photos (call or check website for dates/times) . Visit the trains Mon-Fri 2-9pm, Sat-Sun 9am-9pm. Trees will be available until Dec 23. Closed on Christmas Day.
