Catch a Southern Maryland Blue Crabs Game at Regency Furniture Stadium
Settling sweetly into the Southern Maryland countryside, Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf borrows design cues from the historic tobacco barns that dot the nearby countryside; and the hand-operated scoreboard gives this new park serious old-time charm. The picnic pavilion makes for great family outings. And with the team owned in part by The Human Vacuum Cleaner himself, Brooks Robinson, Brooksie is often on hand to watch his independent, Atlantic League Blue Crabs play; and sign a few autographs while he’s at it.
Before the game, make a stop at the James E. Richmond Science Center. Located just across from the stadium parking lot, and featuring “Science on a Sphere” and a world-class planetarium, it’s the prefect compliment to a day at the park.
You Can’t Spell Southern Maryland Without Seafood
We’re not going to beat around the bush here, Maryland is home to the best seafood in the world, and Southern Maryland is suitably proud of theirs. Hit the Hall of Fame Seafood Stand for an old-school crab cake platter or a new-school crab pretzel. Either way, you can’t go wrong.
Buy Me Some Peanuts and a Paddle Boat Ride
If you’re the type of baseball fan who prefers boats to the bleachers, you don’t have to go all the way to San Francisco. Left-center field is home to Crabby Cove, a paddle-boat lagoon perfect for a high-seas game day adventure.
