Tee off at Eagles Landing for 18 challenging holes with unbeatable vistas of Sinepuxent Bay and Assateague Island National Seashore. Expect meticulously maintained course conditions almost year-round. This course has the distinction of being the only course in Maryland certified as an Audubon sanctuary.
All skill levels will enjoy the wide fairways and generous greens that make this Gary Player-designed course a must-play golf course near Ocean City. Bunkers and water features add some risk and reward to the style of play. Relax and refuel at STARR restaurant in the clubhouse after a round.
It’ll be harder to keep your head down when the views are this good. Almost every hole on this course features bay-front scenery and several holes of Scottish-style links run right along the bay itself. If that’s not intriguing enough for you, local lore has it that infamous pirates Captain Kidd and Blackbeard once sheltered on this stretch of land.
Rated one of the top public courses in the U.S., Nutters Crossing is worth the short drive from Ocean City to Salisbury. Don’t let the shorter yardage fool you, this course is a challenge with 50 bunkers and eight water hazards. Golfers give this course five-star reviews for the excellent condition of the fairways and greens.
Thirty-six holes comprise two distinct experiences at GlenRiddle Golf Course. Daily fee-for-play at “Man O’ War” is open for tee times to the general public. Members have access to the “War Admirals Member Course.” Fun fact: The clubhouse, which now features a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, was once a renowned race horse stable—home to Seabiscuit—and parts of the training track are now bunkers on the Man O’ War course.
More swings for less green, this public course is a great value. The player-friendly 18-hole course is a good option for golfers of all skill levels. Ocean Resorts WWCC Golf Club also operates a living laboratory for students at the nearby Wor-Wic Community College who are studying the green industry.
Two courses, Newport Bay and Seaside, make up 36 holes of championship golf at Ocean City Golf Club. You can’t miss the expansive coastal views, but watch out for bunkers along the Newport Bay course because you’ll be rewarded for accuracy. A good range of distances make the course enjoyable for all skill levels.
Situated amid dense trees alongside the Assawoman Bay, the Links at Lighthouse Sound feature peaceful wetlands full of birds and a stunning view of the Ocean City skyline. This course is home to the longest cart bridge in the country, which spans pristine wetlands. The grass isn’t the only thing that is green here, the course collects and recycles water and was designed to minimize impact on the natural habitat.
