BALTIMORE, MD (September 22, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Commerce Office of Tourism in partnership with the state’s 25 Destination Marketing Organizations has launched a new “Open Road” campaign.

BALTIMORE, MD (August 25, 2020) – Governor Larry Hogan today announced that September would be proclaimed International Underground Railroad Month for the second year in a row. International Underground Railroad Month acknowledges the significance of the Underground Railroad, and all those involved, for its contribution to the eradication of slavery in the United States and as a cornerstone for a more comprehensive civil rights movement that followed.

ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 29, 2020) – Today Governor Larry Hogan proclaimed October as Maryland Horse Month, recognizing the abundant historic, recreational, therapeutic, and economic contributions made by the state’s horse industry. Additionally, 2020 will be the first year that all of Maryland’s premiere equestrian sporting events, including the Preakness Stakes, are held in the same month due to scheduling changes in response to COVID-19.
