The first monument to Washington in the United States. Begun in 1815, and 178’ 8” tall, the marble column forms the centerpiece of the four park squares of Mount Vernon Place, a National Historic Landmark District.
Monument: Thur, 5-9pm; Fri, 12N-4pm; Sat-Sun, 10am-5pm; Park Squares: Daily, dawn-dusk.

Took a few minutes to stop here and see the Washington Monument. Not bad. Nice Monument and park/public area surrounding it. Interesting traffic circle around it as well. Good place for pictures.
