The boat ramp is located in the C&O Canal National Historical Park 5 miles off U.S. 40 at the end of Little Orleans Road. There are 14 parking spaces, portable restrooms and a two-lane concrete ramp.

The Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority is a state agency managing the Passages of the Western Potomac Heritage Area and Canal Place Heritage Park. The Park is located at the terminus of the C&O Canal Towpath & The GAP trail.
