America's oldest privately owned ferry, established 1683. Crosses scenic Tred Avon River between Oxford and St. Michaels area. Ferry carries nine cars, motorcycles, bicycles, passengers. Two locations for boarding: Oxford and Bellevue, MD (5536 Bellevue Rd). Part of Maryland's 2020 Year of the Woman.
April-Oct: 9am-sunset daily; Nov: Sat-Sun only.

After an afternoon in St. Michaels, my husband and I took the ferry over to Oxford to our B&B. A short, nice trip. Cost was $12 for car and 1 person plus $3 for a 2nd person, so $15 to get across...

This is a cute little car ferry from St. Michaels to the town of Oxford. It's not a large ferry and was not that crowded when we were there. Our main reason for taking the ferry was to see the house...
