Great opportunity to learn some of the rich history of the canal system and trains. You get a chance to view how the canal boats were built and used "Back in the day"

We found the visitor center because we were taking the Western Maryland Scenic trainride. The staff was very helpful and had lots of information.

There are a variety of displays pertaining to the coal industry, the C&O Canal and Cumberland history. Definitely not a must-see experience. We visited before the WMRR train ride. Once is definitely...
