Erected in 1875, this was one of the last manned lighthouses on the Chesapeake Bay and is one of the few surviving screwpile offshore lighthouses. It is a national landmark best seen by boat.
I have sailed by this many times and everyone always mentions it, but that's about it. it's a standing lighthouse in the Chesapeake Bay that you sail by - everyone knows, but not much to see. Maybe...
The Thomas Point Lighthouse is classic Chesapeake Bay and an amazing sight! The lighthouse is best seen by water but can also be seen by the park near by. Worth a visit.
