From seed to shuck, the Hoopers Island Oyster Co. raises premium oysters including their signature “Chesapeake Golds” and “Mermaid Kisses” for wholesalers, restaurants and individual consumers. Shucked pints available at the Cambridge location on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as at Emily's Produce, and Simmons Center Market, both in Cambridge.

Opened in 1958, the pool was originally private and for whites only. Demand for change grew after the Black Grove community became the target of hate crimes led by local KKK members. The City of Laurel purchased the pool and desegrated it in 1968.
