This early 19th-century store was the site of Harriet Tubman's first act of defiance. Both the interior and exterior of the store are preserved to appear much as they did in Tubman's time.
Located on the Blue Ribbon Savage River tailwater in Western Maryland and in the Savage River State Forest.
The Waterman's Museum, located at Haven Harbour Marina in Rock Hall, Maryland, boasts exhibits on oystering, crabbing and fishing. A reproduction of a waterman's shanty house is also on display, along with photographs, carvings and of course, boats.
