Maryland Fleet Week & Air Show Baltimore Events

Air Show Baltimore

Saturday and Sunday, October 15 & 16, 2016, demonstrations between 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. over Fort McHenry
The air show will feature precision flight demonstrations from the US Navy, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Air Force, Geico Skytypers, Scott Francis Airshows and more over a two-and-a-half-hour period. The finale is a 45-minute demonstration by the Blue Angels. According to the U.S. Navy, the closest the Blue Angels will fly to each other is 18 inches during the Diamond 360 maneuver. The fastest speed is about 700 mph (just under Mach 1) and the slowest speed is about 120 mph, both flown by the solo pilots during the show. More Information >

Commissioning of the USS Zumwalt

Port of Baltimore, October 15 , 2016
The Port of Baltimore will be the site of the Commissioning Ceremony for the most technologically advanced United States Destroyer in history. The Naval commissioning ceremony has been a tradition of all navies for centuries. The commissioning is the final act that marks entrance of a man-of-war into the naval forces of her nation.  When her commissioning pennant breaks to fly from the mast, USS ZUMWALT DDG 1000 becomes a proud ship of the line. The USS Zumwalt is docked at a pier at North Locust Point for Fleet Week, but is not open for any public tours. The commissioning ceremony on Saturday Oct. 15 is by private invitation only. More information >
