Sept. 1 - 4, 2016  -  National Hard Crab Derby and Fair - This annual Labor Day weekend event  in Crisfield includes all things crab:  crab races, crab cooking,crab picking contests and more.  Thursday evening begins with a carnival that runs through Sunday night.  There is a beauty pageant, parade, fireworks and of course, the derby. . 

Sept. 10 - 11, 2016  -  Maryland Seafood Festival -  With the Chesapeake Bay as the backdrop you can't go wrong.  This year's Maryland Seafood Festival invites you to "savor the bay" by addiing even more new foods and menus.  And, the Annual Capital Crab Soup Cook-off is back and includes a vegetable, cream and alternative crab soups. Enjoy toe-tapping music, kids' activities, shopping options, exhibits all at Sandy Point State Park.

Sept. 18, 2016  -  Calvert County Waterman's Festival - Best known for the "Boat The Maryland Blue Crab" or "Beautiful Swimmer" Docking contest,
this festival features work boats and charter boats as they compete for prizes.  Watch while you enjoy beer, seasonal foods and live music at this popular event now back for its 15th year.

Oct. 1, 2016 -  Taste of Bethesda - This famous food and music festival brings together 60 restaurants and five stages to entertain visitors at Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle.  Come and enjoy the entertainment and the cuisine.  Taste of Bethesda is just three blocks from the Bethesda Metro.

Oct. 8, 2016 - Harvestfest Cornhole Tournament -  Come to the "Railyard" in historic downtown Mount Airy.  Expect heavy competition for cash prizes.  Enjoy entertainment and a beer garden.

Oct. 15 - 16, 2016 -  U.S. Oyster Festival in St. Mary's County aka Maryland Oyster Festival - The US Oyster Festival is 50 years old this year and St. Mary's County is the home of the National Oyster Cook-off and US National Oyster Shucking Competition.  Enjoy the best talent in the US!  And, you can pay as you eat. 

Oct. 9  -  23, 2016  -  Ocean City Restaurant Week - Participating restaurants offer special fixed price menus in addition to their regular menu.  Dine simply or choose fine dining experiences.  Better yet, mix it up. Try new foods and new places and see what your favorite Ocean City restaurants have cooked up special.  This event is popular; reservations are suggested.
