Celebrating 287 years of innovation, ingenuity and creativity, the first American city to light its streets is now the first city on the continent to hold a major light festival. Light City Baltimore is a new form of urban celebration featuring a mile and a half “Light Walk,” where massive, glittering art installations challenge the viewers’ very perceptions of what is possible.

Light City Baltimore redefines the traditional arts festival in more than just its medium. Light City brings more than fifty free concerts featuring such luminaries as Dan Deacon, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Thomas Dolby and the one-of-a-kind Light City U. Aimed at igniting a beacon of knowledge and cooperation, Light City U brings thought leaders from the worlds of art, science, health, social justice and more to Baltimore to ignite the community’s spirit of innovation and leadership.

Envisioned as an enduring beacon of Baltimore’s vibrant spirit, Light City invites you to celebrate this birth of a new tradition of innovation.
