The Maryland Office of Tourism invites you to show us Maryland, your way! That’s why we created ‘Maryland My Way,’ a new contest where YOU shoot your own 30-second commercial showing off what makes Maryland special to you. We want you to show why Maryland is an exciting, must-see place with lots to see and do! Cast it, shoot it, script it, create it! Register here and send in your 30-second spot by November 17, and our panel of judges will select three winners for cash prizes—plus, your commercial will be broadcast on all of our social media channels, on our website, and maybe even in some of our broadcast TV spots! So get out there with your video camera and tell your story—show us ‘Maryland, Your Way!’

WHAT: ‘Maryland My Way,’ a new contest for DIY filmmakers to create their own 30-second TV spots to be used by the Office of Tourism Development on social media channels, website, Maryland Tourism YouTube channel, and TV commercials

WHO: Anyone! (But especially Marylanders!)

WHY: Celebrating Maryland as fun destination with must-see attractions and lots to do

WHEN: Contest runs Sept. 22-Nov. 17

WHERE: All footage must be shot in Maryland

Other important information:

The contest works like this: Shoot and edit your own 30-second spot that celebrates what makes Maryland special to you. Make sure to get photo releases signed by anyone appearing in your spot (download our Photo Release). Use our Maryland Tourism logo at the end of your spot (download our logo here). You can even get some cool tips on shooting your commercial from our Maryland Film Office pros here. Then upload your spot to your YouTube channel (provide web address in the form below). Enter by Nov 17, 2016, and your entry will be reviewed by our panel of film and tourism experts and judged for these prizes: Grand prize (Best Overall): $500;  Best Editing: $250;  Best Visuals/Cinematography: $250. Winners will be announced on or before Nov. 30, 2016.
