We were traveling around and found this monument and knew we had to stop. The D.C. monument is grander but this one exemplifies Washington's style, humble and done well.

The whole area is beautiful. You can reserve timed tickets online for the monument, as they only allow 5 climbers at once. You are climbing over 200 stairs, but it was a pretty easy climb. It wasn't...

Neat monument, which we learned was the first Washington Monument, with an excellent view of the city. Be prepared to climb up a lot of steps.
