Measurable Results
From the perspective of energy consumption, our LEED-silver hotel was designed to operate 32% more efficiently than a standard hotel design. Using EPA's EnergyStar guidance, a standard hotel spends approximately $2,196 per year per available room, which would equate to roughly 20,000 kwh/room (11 cents/kwh national average). Using this standard, we expect that our 107 room hotel will result in cost savings of approximately $64,000 and reduced energy consumption of approximately 640,000 kwh per year.
