We constantly meet to come up with programs that help our guests appreciate the outdoors. Set Annual Goals: Our goals for 2013 are to increase the environmental educational component of our tours. List of our environmentally friendly products and services: We buy items with recycled content Environmental Restoration or Community Environmental Projects: Each April, we run a program called Go Green and Scream where we ask for volunteers to help us clean up the trails and riverside of Savage Park and the Little Patuxent River. We plant Cherry Blossom Trees to support Blossoms of Hope and control erosion. We constructed barriers to prevent soil erosion on our challenge course and each year add woodchips to maintain aesthetics and contribute to the soil Waste Reduction We use the following best management practices: Have a plan in place to reduce property waste Restrooms Use high-efficiency hand-dryers Registration / Office Use electronic, paperless registration Use electronic correspondence and forms Purchase recycled paper with a high percentage recycled content Make 2-sided copies / printed materials and avoid making extra copies Use refillable pens and toner cartridges Reuse scrap paper for notes Offer Leave No Trace tips and green travel education to guests Promote other green attractions, activities and Maryland Green Travel facilities Buildings and Grounds Use green cleaning chemicals Install carpet with sustainable or recycled content Recycling We recycle paper, cans, glass and plastic used by our guests. We do not provide cups but instead use tap water in jugs for our guests to rehydrate. We have clearly marked recycling bins or provide convenient drop off locations We are recycling: Aluminium Cans Cardboard Glass Fluorescent Lamps Office Paper Plastic Printer and copy machine toner cartridges Water Conservation Have a plan in place to reduce property water usage Use or installed the following devices: low flow urinals (1 gpf or less) Have an effective landscape management plan which utilizes: minimizes lawn areas Have an effective storm water plan management including: Maintain vegetative buffers around streams and ponds	Energy Efficiency We use the following best management practices: Have a plan in place to reduce property energy usage Lighting: Designed use of natural lighting Turn off lights in unoccupied rooms Use high efficiency compact fluorescent light bulbs in rooms, canned lighting or wherever possible Minimize Disposable Food Service Items We use the following best management practices: Use disposable foodservice items made with recycled content Green Events We use the following best management practices: Support event planners who want to hold green events Provide visible recycling at all green events Minimize the use of disposable food service items Use electronic registration, correspondence and forms Use double-sided printing and copying Other Green Practices Transportation: We use the following best management practices: Addressing Efficient Business Travel-We encourage employees to car pool Measurable Results Waste Reduction: We cleaned up over 40 garbage bags of trash in Savage Park and the adjacent river bank this past year. Waster Reduction: We recycled over 100 lbs. of recycled material this year
