On a Sunday night in early December we were the only diners which allowed us to work before and after our meal without a lot of distraction. Menu is limited. Food is above average.

Acqua is a nice place to have a beer or just have a couple friends out to mingle. Big bar and a great beer and wine selection. The beer boiled mussels is a must with a local micro brew. Recommend the crab cake sandwich who've are the same crab cakes they use for the dinner plate.

I order crab cakes. I was told I'll get three crab cakes. Instead, I got 3 crab bites. They were good but super tiny. Kid menu size food. Place was empty but a few people at the bar.
Was in MD and wanted crab cakes. Very pleased.

I stayed at a nearby hotel and had not had crab cakes in a while. This popped up on my GPS, so I figured why not. It is in the Hilton hotel. Parking was easy. Nice lounge area. My server appeared right away, but then seemed to get engrossed in conversation at every other table so I waited quite a while for my wine. Food was brought out by others, so no real wait. My caesar salad had sliced greek olives which was an interesting touch. The crab cakes were perfect. There were two that were tennis ball sized. Seemed as though they were nothing but crab. Vegetable substitution was no problem. The crab cakes were served on an very interesting carrot/bacon hash which at first I thought would be weird, but was quite tasty. Salad, entree and inexpensive bottle of wine ($25, which I took leftovers with me) was $75.00 before tip. I would return.
Past Good, Present Horrible

I have stayed at the Hilton BWI several times and eaten at the acqua bar most times I stayed at the Hilton BWI. Generally the food, drinks & service have been good. However, tonight was the exception. Bartender "Jess" was much more concerned with: 1) her phone, 2) the fact that she was not getting enough quality hours, 3) what others were doing, etc. What was off her, and the manager's, radar was customers and cleaning up the bar. I have tolerated a lot of poor service, but the WW II vets that also occupied the bar deserve better! Next time I am here I will check the bar to see if I will stay or go; all depends on who is tending bar. Fix it or don't be surprised by an empty bar.
