I had a wonderful experience at the Best Western Plus LaPlata Inn in MD. The staff was professional, pleasant, polite, and friendly. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. It is so important to know that if you need help navigating an area or any other issue, that there are people available who care and will help.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of our hotel. Having stayed at another Best Western just a couple months ago, that was less than spectacular, this site was very modern, clean and welcoming! I didn't expect to find the ample breakfast that was included -- cereal, waffles, eggs, bagels & pastries. I will definitely stay at this location if I travel to this town again!
It will do

We stay here on business often. Over the past few years, it has really declined in quality. For this hotel, it will depend on what you are looking for. As far as LaPlata goes, it is the best choice of a hotel I believe. The hotel caters to blue collar hard working class who travel thru the week. It offers free breakfast and free dinners as well. The quality of the food would be on par with McDonalds. Nothing special but for someone on a budget, a huge benefit. It also has a nice grill (with propane) outback by the pool for grilling if you like. Some of the clients staying in this hotel (and in many in the area) are sketchy at best. I never felt unsafe while there but I also realized "they" were there and what "they" were up to. The staff are friendly and the best part of the stay. The rooms need some work but the beds are comfortable. The rooms are cool for the summer but the management does not turn on AC in the halls so it is hot. Last time I was there, none of the vending machines worked, We didn't get the room we requested and they had no cookies in the lobby. There are several restaurants in the area to choose from of just about any price range you desire. If you are okay with it not being the Ritz, then its not a bad choice but if you want 4-5 star, this isn't the place. We stay here because it is the best place in LaPlata.

This is a nice hotel and certainly up to Best Western standards, but it's hard to see what might have earned it the "Plus" distinction. I'm not entirely convinced. As with all of the Best Westerns that I've stayed at, this was was clean and well maintained. I had a very nice king bed but there was a tangle of cords in a power strip that looked very out of place considering that everything else looked so nice - there ought to be a way to ensure that everything that needs to be plugged in (all hotel stuff, none of mine) can be neatly tucked away and out of sight. The breakfast was standard fare. Again, with the "Plus" distinction, I was hoping for a bit more.
