Your Per Diem Provider Will be Happy
Jan 24, 2015 by: Emily23 from Western United States
The DC metro area is notoriously expensive and its hotels are no exception. This place is your solution. Their rates are consistently lower than any other hotel in Bethesda (believe me, I've checked) unless you count airbnb (which I'd kind of recommend). The American Inn has everything you need. The internet is fast, the AC is ice cold, the beds are comfortable, there are hair dryers in the room and there's free coffee in the morning in the lobby. There's even a small but adequate workout room (located, oddly, in the garage) and an outdoor pool that is (again oddly) only open in the afternoon and early evening. The location is not great if you're on foot--it's about a mile to the nearest Metro stop. But there's a decent, inexpensive Chinese takeout spot about a block away and there's a convenience/liquor store across the street. Some of the rooms are also quite small but if you're out all day it doesn't make much of a difference. You might not be thrilled but your expense report will be.

Has everything you need, bed very comfortable and clean. That's what matters most to me. Not much in the parking . They have a small garage if your vehicle is over six feet high it won't fit. Ours didn't . The queen room is dinky . Looks exactly like the photo but the photo must have been taken with a macro lens. Counting the ceiling tiles the room is 11 by 11. Very friendly staff. Very clean. A little noisy . And the restaurant Guapos downstairs was very good. Our room was 303 the shower took about 15 minutes to get just over warm. For the price I would stay here again .
Friendly staff. Parking not so friendly

Staff is awesome. They treat you right and get the job done. I had the opportunity to meet Adeline and Dipshan at the front desk and they were more than helpful with everything. Rooms were great. Offered everything you needed in a safe and sterile environment. Parking was not so great. There were probably at most 20 parking spaces on the ground floor level and when I got to the hotel Saturday evening, they were all taken. They directed us to free overnight parking but it is uncovered in an outside parking lot across the street behind a demolished gas station. Probably about 200 feet from the hotel. Other than that, I would still stay in this hotel if I ever needed to again. Parking wasn't that inconvenient.
Great staff, spacious room

The staff, location and restaurant was great! Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and reason for visit. Hotel is in the middle of everything, especially Guapos which is attached to the hotel and has great Mexican food! So for the room you definitely need to be an easy going person or pack your patience! Room 116 was huge....large enough to be two rooms but it is at the end of the hallway near the back door where the Guapos traffic comes and goes. Noise dies down around 9:00 and is really quiet at night and into the morning. Nothing too troublesome, just a heads up if you are hellbent on sleeping at 8pm!
