Baltimore milk-dealer Jacob Fussell, “father of the ice-cream
industry,” started something that numerous
creameries and shops around the state have continued.
Visit Union Mills Homestead in Carroll County for an Ice Cream
Sundae Social, July 12. (Sundaes were invented
in the late 1890s, says the International Dairy Foods Association.)
Also on July 12, Ocean City begins its Sunday-evening family concerts – Sundaes
in the Park – where you can create your own ice-cream
